The best way to see and explore London is on foot. Thanks to lots of clever creatives, there’s almost always an artwork waiting for you right around the next corner. Sometimes you’ll even find an entire trail to follow!
This page will be regularly updated as new temporary art trails are announced and recurring favourites are confirmed. With direct links to maps, apps and official trail websites this page is your one-stop shop for your outdoor art adventures. Bookmark it and check back often.

Snoopy Sculpture Trail

When: 19 November — 16 January 2026
Where: Between Fleet Street and Chancery Lane
Good grief, Charlie Brown. This year’s trail around the Fleet Street Quarter is none other than Snoopy! A dozen of them, actually, and each will be creatively decorated to celebrate 75 years of Charles M Schulz’s beloved Peanuts™ comic strip. Happy trails, indeed!

Winter Lights

When: 20 - 31 Jan (Daily 5 - 10 pm)
Where: Canary Wharf
It’s the 10th edition of one of London’s best loved winter light festival, and to celebrate there will be 16 new installations based around the theme of “DREAMSCAPE” — which the organisers say will take visitors on a journey through surreal, ethereal and uniquely human experiences. It will also be cold, so bundle up!!!

Canary Wharf - Art on the Estate

Where: Canary Wharf, London E14
If you haven’t been to Canary Wharf then you’ll be forgiven for not knowing that they have an extensive, and growing, collection of outdoor art. There are currently over 100 works spread across the estate, clustered into 5 easy to digest sections. With super fast access via the Jubilee and Elizabeth Line and a growing selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, you’ve got no excuse not to plan a visit.

Tip: Be sure not to miss the annual Winter and Summer lights festivals, which are short-run evening events full of light based art.
Chelsea Barracks Estate

Where: Chelsea Barracks — Enter on foot from Pimlico Road or Chelsea Bridge Road, SW1W 8RF
The most recent display of rotating works included some amazing Dale Chihuly glass sculptures and yes, it’s free for you to wander around the estate from 9am - 9pm to see the art and oogle how the other half live. Just how exclusive is this property built on the site of the former Chelsea Barracks? Last I checked… £60 Million for a 14,704 SqFt, 7-story townhomes with an underground pool, 2-car garage, cinema and living quarters for your staff. If you go be sure to check out the permanent “tree” by Conrad Shawcross, located by the entrance on Pimlico Road.

Tip: Be sure to check out the Grade II listed Garrison Chapel which has been renovated into a public exhibition space to showcase the work of The Prince's Foundation.
Sculpture in the City

When: New trail debuts 16 July
Where: City of London, between Liverpool Street, Fenchurch Street and Aldgate stations
Sculpture in the City is a compact trail that makes clever use of what little space is left between the City of London skyscrapers that keeping appearing like weeds, hiding the once prominent Gherkin from almost every skyline view except the East. You could easily see all of the installations on your lunch hour, if you were in a rush.
The 14th edition of the trail will see new artworks by Ai Weiwei, Andrew Sabin and Jane and Louise Wilson join six works retained from previous editions, along with two permanent acquisitions.

The Line

Where: Between Stratford and North Greenwich
Technically this is the only actual ‘trail’ on the list, since it’s designed to be enjoyed in a linear fashion. It was London’s first permanently dedicated public art walk and it includes some incredibly large outdoor works, showing how artists explore big ideas through monumental installations. Many works are permanent, but the overall selection receives annual updates and extensions.
Walking the full route takes a little over half a day and gives you an excuse to ride the IFS Cloud Cable Car. Use the audio guides and go at your own pace, or join one of the free Thursday Wellbeing Walks or Saturday Guided Walks. If you haven’t yet walked The Line… what are you waiting for?
